    Praised for her “natural expressiveness” (Montpelier Times Argus), Dr. Jessica Powell Eig has crafted a dynamic and varied career performing on double bass, violone and viola da gamba.
  • Gerald Fowkes

    Adjunct Faculty, CELLO, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Gerald Fowkes is a 2001 graduate of Louisiana State University where he graduated summa cum laude in Cello Performance. His former teachers and mentors include Dennis Parker, Loran Stephenson, Wesley Baldwin and Pamela Frame.

    Gerald Fowkes, cellist and conductor, is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he graduated summa cum laude in Cello Performance.
  • Soo Han

    Director of ORCHESTRAL STUDIES, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Dr. Soo Han is the newly appointed Director of Orchestral Studies at the Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music at George Mason University. He is also the Music Director of the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Board of Directors of the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic.
  • Adriana Horne

    Adjunct Professor of Music, HARP, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Dr. Adriana Horne will be joining the Dewberry School of Music faculty in August of 2021. She joined the National Symphony Orchestra in 2013. Prior to joining the NSO, she was the principal harpist of the New World Symphony.

    Prof. June Huang will be serving as Mason’s Director of Strings, a new full time applied faculty position, effective August 2017. She served as an adjunct violin faculty member in Mason’s School of Music since August 2015.
  • Joanna Owen

    Joanna Owen joined the George Mason Music Faculty in the fall of 2019. She received her Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory and her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Eastman School of Music.
  • Shawn Purcell

    Shawn Purcell, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a jazz guitarist, educator, arranger, and composer in the Washington DC region. Purcell has shared the stage, recorded with, and/or toured with top jazz artists including: Terell Stafford, Nicholas Payton, Tim Warfield, Sean Jones, Brian Charette, Steve Fidyk, Dana Hall, The Chicago Jazz Ensemble, The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Jim Pugh, Chip McNeill, Jeannie Bryson, Eddie Daniels, Chris Potter, Jerry Bergonzi, Steve Allee and many others.
  • Dorotea Rácz

    Adjunct Applied Faculty, CELLO, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Croatian cellist Dorotea Rácz has concertized throughout Europe, United States, Central, and South America as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. Prof. Racz has performed in prestigious venues such as the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Austria), the Teatro Naval in Buenos Aires (Argentina), the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and the Carnegie Hall in New York (USA).
  • Matthew Trkula

    Adjunct Faculty, CLASSICAL GUITAR and Guitar Ensemble, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Matt Trkula is a Northern Virginia based classical guitarist and teacher. He earned his BM in Classical Guitar Performance from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati under Clare Callahan and Masters degrees in Classical Guitar Performance and Music Education from George Mason University under Larry Snitzler.
