Biography
Matt Trkula is a Northern Virginia based classical guitarist and teacher. He earned his BM in Classical Guitar Performance from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati under Clare Callahan and Masters degrees in Classical Guitar Performance and Music Education from George Mason University under Larry Snitzler.
In addition to being on faculty at George Mason, Professor Trkula is the guitar and orchestra director at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, Virginia. He is regularly engaged in state and local outreach efforts focused on raising the profile and stature of guitar and guitar education. Professor Trkula teaches applied classical guitar and directs the George Mason Guitar Ensemble.
