Alumnus Kyle Harrington, 2014

Kyle Harrington, band director for Independence High School, was welcomed along with his Wind Ensemble as a featured special guest for The Mason Bands concert But Joy Comes... in December 2025. This was the second concert of the Mason Bands' 55th Anniversary season, where the Mason Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony reflected on perseverance, remembrance, and the radiant arrival of joy after struggle.

    Bobby Lacy II is a singer, songwriter, producer, professor, musician, director and award winning spoken word artist. Born in Waco, TX but made a name for himself in the DMV area as an audio visual specialist working closely with the Mayor's office in Washington DC right out of high school.

    Renowned for her sensitive artistry, vivid tonal palette, and expressive musicality, Dr. GaYoung Lee has established herself as a highly sought-after solo and collaborative pianist on prominent stages worldwide. Her ability to seamlessly integrate and elevate musical synergy with fellow musicians has earned her acclaim in solo recitals, chamber music, and vocal collaborations.

    A rising talent in Hollywood, Vincent Oppido’s music is “melodically classical yet unafraid to introduce new ideas” (Damon Lindelof). His music has been performed and recorded in Europe and Japan, and across the United States from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood scoring stages of Warner Brothers and Sony Pictures Studios.

    Bill Podolski is in his eighth year as Director of Choral Activities at H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program where he teaches six middle and high choral ensembles, which collectively involve a quarter of the school’s student population.
