Resources for Reporting Bias and Discrimination and/or Academic Concerns
If your concern has to do with curriculum, grade disputes, course issues, applied lessons, or Dewberry School of Music policy, you should report these to the Dewberry School of Music administrative team. Please see Dr. Delaney, Academic Program Manager; Dr. Monson, Director, School of Music; Dr. Owens, Associate Director, School of Music; or Dr. Robinson, Director of Graduate Studies regarding these matters.
If you feel that you have been discriminated against based on representation of a protected class or ethics violation, or if you have experienced an incident of bias, you should contact the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion to file a report.
You may also report discrimination or bias incidents directly to the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
As per the CCEE website: “A bias incident is an act of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, violence or criminal offense committed against any person, group or property that appears to be motivated by prejudice or bias. Such are usually associated with negative feelings and beliefs with respect to others race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age social class, political affiliation, disability, veteran status, club affiliation or organizational membership. Such bias incidents may be intentional or unintentional and affect the individual or Mason community.”
