Kaitlyn Burns

Kaitlyn Burns is a senior, music education major studying flute under Professor Julianna Nickel. She is from Purcellville, Virginia where she began her love for music. Within the Reva and Sid Dewberry School of Music, she is an active member of large and small ensembles, the National Association for Music Education, and serves as the Friends of Music at Mason Intern. Kaitlyn is devoted to her love for learning and passion for education. She is looking forward to continuing her third year as a Mason Music Ambassador!

After graduation, she plans to teach in the public school system for a few years before pursuing a Masters degree and Doctor of Musical Arts degree in instrumental conducting.
